Good evening and welcome to another fun packed, thrilling (well we try
our best) edition of yours and mine, though I'm biased, favourite games
pages.
This issue I'm doing things a bit differently by having a joint Amiga and
PC Hyper Zone. No it's not because I'm lazy, well ok maybe it is, but
this month we have news and a round-up of space games (wooh!).
First off, news that Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary will be available
this september for Amiga owners (of course PC owners have had it for
donkeys years). The bad news to A600 owners is that it will only be
available for the A1200 and A400 machines, I predict that this game might
well sell quite a few A1200 machines (including one to myself too!!!).
But what I want to know is will they now produce a Star Trek The Next
Generation game, and if so, how short will Troi's dress be ?!
Oh quick snippet before I get carried away with space games, last issue I
enthused about Goal! for the Amiga but had a few reservations about it.
Well forget them!, and up the rating a few percent, takes it to just over
90% by my reckoning now. Extremely addictive is the word (er, two words
anyway).
Elite 2, more commonly known as Frontier should be reaching the shelves
pretty shortly. Not much more kmown about it but I just thought I'd
remind you anyway! The Amiga version will be with us this September with
the PC one just a little way behind that.

Wing Commander, came out years ago for the PC and was hailed as the best
most cinematic space game yet, incredible 3D graphics, loads of action,
and movie sequences in between all that. So successful that the sequel
Wing Commander 2 was released. Amiga owners were lucky enough to get this
fantastic game after quite a long delay (but never mind), it wasn't quite
as fast (unless you happened to have a 68030 accelerator card) but
neverless a great achievement indeed. Any chance of Wing Commander 2 for
the A1200 Origin ?!
Elite, ooooh now we're going back in time. The original Elite game after
appearing for all the 8-bit dinosaurs, er, I mean computers, surfaced in
an Amiga version which was faithful to the original without being
anything remarkable, while the PC one was much the same but allegdedly
too damn slow for most people. Elite Plus was promptly brought out for
the PC, well maybe not that prompt as it appeared quite a few years
later, and was to all intents very nifty indeed. Sadly Elite Plus never
made it to the Amiga. But with Elite 2 (Frontier) coming out very shortly
for both computers you won't need to track down Elite anymore.
X-Wing. Ok to be honest I haven't seen this game (yet) so I can't pass
judgement on it but check it out as it is meant to be one of the best
space games yet. [cd1am1 - Shadow Arrakis]
Next issue a return to the normal format, reviews, news of new games, and
the following >>>
